In this paper seven different multiaxial fatigue criteria were used to estimate the fatigue lives of aluminium 7075-T6 plate specimens including a pre-treated fastener hole. To do so, the results of available FE
simulations of three different models, called open hole, cold-expanded and clamped-hole were used as
basic data in multiaxial fatigue criteria to estimate fatigue lives and they were compared with available
experimental fatigue tests results to investigate if these criteria predict the fatigue lives of such specimens reasonably. The comparison of the experimental and estimated fatigue lives showed that for different specimen batches different criteria can give reasonable lives.
