Conductive membranes offer a promising solution to mitigate membrane fouling. This paper presents the fabrication of an adsorptive ultrafiltration PLA membrane by incorporating a conductive montmorillonite-polypyrrole (Mt-Ppy) composite nanoparticle. PLA-(Mt-Ppy) electro-conductive membrane was used as a cathode and the effects of Mt-Ppy content on the cleaning efficiency of the fouled membranes was investigated. By applying electric current, PLA-(Mt-Ppy-0.5) membrane showed highest FRR due to the BETTER repulsive force between the membrane and humic acid.
