In this study, highly permeable and fouling resistant polylactic acid (PLA) ultrafiltration membranes consisting different amounts of montmorillonite (MMT). MMT was incorporated in PLA membrane to improve the porosity, hydrophilicity, mechanical strength of the membranes. All the ultrafiltration membranes showed higher hydrophilicity, porosity, and mechanical strength than the neat PLA membrane. The PLA-MMT-1.5 membrane exhibited higher flux recovery ratio (FRR). This was due to the high concentration of MMT in this membrane.
