The present work focused on the characterization of tribological properties of resin-based friction materials filled with two types of clays, including modified and unmodified ones, and nanoalumina. The aim in this study was to take into consideration the role of nanoparticles type and the content in brake friction materials. The influence of nanoparticle on the mechanical, physical, frictional and wear characteristic were examined. Nanoparticles revealed various properties improvements of brake friction materials especially in wear resistance and friction stability at elevated temperature.
