UV radiation is major source of radiation in environmental conditions affects many characteristics of the
exposed fabrics. Study of the changes color values has been a major attention for the researchers. The main
aim of this work is to predict absorbtion of color in UV degraded woven fabrics at different level of exposure
time. Samples of plain woven fabrics were selected. The fabric consists of nylon 66 as weft yarns and
polyester as warp yarns. A UV light source was used to induce controlled degradation at different exposure
times. The samples were dyed in identical condition and the color values for all samples were measured
using a spectrophotometer device. Exposure time causes the differences in color values of the samples.
Regression method was used to correlate exposure time to color values. For validating the method, a new
experimental sample with different expousure time was dyed and color values determined. The comparision
between the experimental and predicted results showed good agreement between them.
