Abstract

The Imbert-Fedorov (IF) shift is characterized as a transverse displacement of a light beam, occurring perpendicularly to the incidence plane. This phenomenon arises when the beam either transmits through or reflects off a surface, leading to a deviation from its geometrically predicted trajectory. In our research, we explore the IF shift manifested in a Gaussian light beam interacting with the interface of an EpsilonNear-Zero (ENZ) and a dielectric medium. Our computational approach leverages angular spectrum analysis to scrutinize the transmitted and reflected beams. We delved into how the IF shift is influenced by various factors, including the angle of incidence, the light's wavelength, and its polarization, as well as the permittivity of the ENZ medium. Our results reveal that the IF shift is remarkably sensitive to even minute changes in these parameters. Specifically, a slight permittivity adjustment by as little as 0.001 can notably alter the shift magnitude.
