Abstract

In this chapter, the robust optimization method is used to solve energy management problem of AC microgrids (MGs) to get appropriate realization AC MGs against the power price un-certainty. The problem is formulated as robust mixed-integer non-linear programming (RMINLP) and results are presented in two strategies as deterministic and robust optimiza-tion. To reduce total operating cost, demand response providers and reduction of industrial loads (ILs) considered in the case study. To show the impact of such programs, the problem in each strategy is solved in two cases as with and without demand response (DR). In order to evaluate the performance of the developed method, a modified IEEE 33-bus system is uti-lized including wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, distributed generation units, and battery storage system, which are optimally located in the system. In the considered case study, op-timal reserve of the system is provided besides the optimal scheduling of the system compo-nents.
