Abstract

In the last years, out of plane deformation of the textiles has been ignored due to complexity and computational problems. The main aim of this work was coating and out of plane deformation characterizing nylon 66 woven engineered fabrics with dip coating multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). For this purpose, fabrics were treated in various dip coating times, temperatures and MWCNT percentages in solution. Then out of plane behavior of them were investigated during the bias extension test. In different strains, some pictures were captured and analyzed. According to the geometrical study of the out of plane behavior, some factors could be defined and estimated, i.e. wrinkle, asymmetric, and longitudinal deformation stability factors. The results showed that all of the estimated factors were reduced with raising the dip coating times, temperatures and MWCNT percentages in solution. Thus, it is possible to predict the behavior of the composite in the future.
