Keywords Nanocomposite membranes, Mg-Al LDH nanoparticles , Anti-foulling proprties, Hydrophilic property, Treatment of Waste Water.
Abstract In recent decades, with the development of industries and population increase, the need for new water sources is more necessary than before. Purification of polluted water not only reduces environmental pollution but is also considered a new source of water. The use of membrane processes is very effective in this field. Using cheap polymers such as polycarbonate is one of the ways to reduce costs. However, foulling of this type of membranes is one of the important challenges due to their low hydrophilicity. In this research, an attempt will be made to improve the hydrophilic properties and, as a result, the anti-fouling properties of the PC membrane by using nanocomposite structures. For this purpose, Mg-Al LDH nanoparticles were first synthesized and then used in the PC membrane structure.
