Title Reduction of losses in active distribution networks by battery energy storage systems
Type Presentation
Keywords Active distribution networks, BESS, Wind turbine
Abstract As smart grids evolve, they will play an important role in shaping a more efficient, sustainable, and flexible power grid for the future. When planning to implement battery storage systems in distribution networks, conducting a thorough feasibility study is important, considering factors such as network topology, load profiles, and specific distribution system challenges. This paper presents a new method to reduce line losses in distribution networks by battery energy storage systems (BESS). Wind turbines, which can be useful in operating battery storage systems, are also considered in this paper.
